Royal Blue Sapphire 1.29ct
Heated · Ceylon
Available
This natural royal blue sapphire was selected from rough out of the gem-bearing gravels of southern Sri Lanka, near Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and shows a deep, saturated royal blue with strong face-up colour and bright flashes across the crown, with slight zoning typical of mined rough. The stone weighs 1.29 ct. Faceted by our cutters into a cushion cut, with tidy facet layout, with light returning strongly across the crown and table. Heated in the usual way to improve face-up colour. Top eye clean: any internal character is not visible at normal viewing distance and only shows under macro magnification. Deep blue that holds in daylight; works as a solitaire or suite anchor.
